Studio Fees

Tuition may be paid by the semester or in monthly installments. Monthly tuition is due, IN ADVANCE, on the first day of each month. Tuition costs will be discussed during the interview process. The yearly schedule runs on a calendar year from January 1 through December 31. Tuition is based on a yearly calendar of 48 lessons, 12 months with 4 lessons each month. Makeup lessons are not given for national holidays and should the month include only three lessons, this will be offset with a month containing five lessons. Monthly tuition remains constant regardless of the number of lessons received in a given month. There are no adjustments in tuition due to missed lessons. The studio is closed Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July.
Makeup lessons will be given when the student gives advance notice of their absence. It is the student’s responsibility to see that the makeup lesson is completed within the month of absence. Tuition includes group theory classes offered in January, February, and March prior to Certificate of Merit evaluations.

All piano students will be charged a one-time YEARLY STUDIO REGISTRATION FEE due in September which reserves your lesson time slot for the school term and includes recital fees, incentive awards, certificates, and practice contest trophies.

The cost of music is not included in tuition or the studio registration fee. Music may be purchased at Ingram and Brauns Musik Shoppe located at 3160 Santa Rita Rd. Suite B4 in Pleasanton, online at or I will purchase the music, itemize the music given to the student, and the music will be billed the following month.

All students participate in MTAC Certificate of Merit and National Guild Auditions. Advanced students will receive training needed to earn their National Guild of Piano Teachers High School Diploma. There is a separate fee for these programs. Special events such as competitions and festivals are chosen for each student on an individual basis each year. Entry fees for these events usually range between $5.00 and $75.00.
